The Twenty-Seventh Special Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) on Agriculture to review the project promoting CARICOM/CARIFORUM Food Security was held on May 21, two weeks before the Agriculture Investment Forum scheduled from 6-7 June in Georgetown. The planning and execution of the Investment Forum, follow-up actions from the Agriculture Donor Conference of 2007 and the status of other elements of the Jagdeo Initiative were discussed at this special meeting

The Canadian city of Calgary has urgent needs for a variety of skilled and professional workers; its rapidly growing business sector offers immediate opportunities for business partnerships and direct investments in the energy sector, tourism and financial services, and the city’s Mayor Mr. Dave Bronconnier has offered to use his office to make these opportunities available to OECS Member States.

OECS promotes investment and business partnership

OECS Secretariat, Castries St. Lucia June 2nd, 2008:The OECS was promoted as a region opened for Canadian investments and business partnerships during a day-long series of round-table discussions on Friday, May 30th, attended by a wide cross-section of the business community in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Caribbean Pavilion at Summer Fancy Food

The flavour, taste and aroma of Caribbean food and culture will be on display at the 54th edition of the Summer International Fancy Food and Confection Show.  According to Sam Kruiner, Caribbean Export Development Agency’s (Caribbean Export), Show Coordinator, “The Caribbean Pavilion provides exhibitors (exporters and potential exporters) with the opportunity to exhibit and promote their products in addition to attracting buyers from across North America.”
